Breed Clubs are traditionally the custodians of a breed and are responsible for upholding
the standard to preserve breed type. The Great Dane Club of NSW promotes responsible
breeding and dog ownership.
The dedication and progressive attitude of past and present members has achieved a club
going strongly for more then half a century, serving our members and promoting our chosen
breed, 'The Great Dane'. We also rely on acquiring new members who care about the breed,
to secure a continuing prosperous future for the breed and the club.
The club conducts bi-monthly meetings and publishes a journal every second month.
Two Championship Shows and one Fun Day are held each year. There is a yearly Point
Score Competition for the title 'Great Dane of the year', 'Junior of the year' and 'Puppy
of the year'. The Club also supports a Rescue Program to re-home Great Danes. You do
not need to show your Great Dane to become a club member.
If you have decided to join The Great Dane Club of NSW, please print the Membership
Application Form from this page and have a member of the club nominate you. It could be
your breeder or a friend who is a club member. But if you do not know anybody who is a
member, please contact one of the committee members and introduce yourself.
The club extends a warm welcome to new members. Should there be any need for help and
advise, to assist you in the care of your Great Dane, it will always be available. The contribution
of interesting articles for the club journal would be very much appreciated. You are invited to
stand for club positions following the completion of a qualifying period. As a club member you
can contribute to assure a continuing secure future for our beloved breed, 'The Great Dane'.
